Q. How fast is turnaround? ▼ Pickups before 10 AM Monday–Friday get next-day delivery. For everything else, you pick your delivery date from our booking page — maximum turnaround is 1 week. If we finish faster than your selected date, we'll text you so you can get it back sooner.
Q. What kind of bag do I use? Do I get my bag back? ▼ Use any laundry bag you have at home — a kitchen trash bag, an old pillowcase, an IKEA bag, anything. We collect your laundry as-is at pickup. After we wash and fold, we pack everything into a brand-new Royal Cleaners delivery bag. Your original bag is laundered and returned with your clean clothes, ready to use again next time.
Q. Do I need to be home for pickup? ▼ No — just leave your bag by the front door. One small ask: text us when your bag is out so our driver knows it's ready for pickup. Number is (510) 653-5644.
Q. Do I need to be home for delivery? ▼ No. We deliver to your front door whether you're home or not, and send you a photo once your bag is dropped off so you know it arrived.
Q. Is pickup and delivery really free? ▼ Yes. On any Wash & Fold order over the 10 lb minimum, or any dry cleaning order, pickup and delivery are included at no extra cost. No surprise fees at the door.
Q. How is my order weighed and priced? ▼ We weigh every Wash & Fold order after cleaning — not before. That way you only pay for what was actually processed, no padding from wet weight. Receipt is itemized by pound, sent before delivery; pay online or at the door.
Q. Is there a minimum order? ▼ Yes — 10 lb minimum per Wash & Fold pickup.
Q. Can I request a specific detergent? ▼ Yes. By default we use a gentle, eco-friendly detergent that works for most customers. If you have a specific brand preference, a fragrance-free requirement, or any sensitivity, just let us know when you schedule and we'll accommodate.
Q. What if something is missing or damaged? ▼ Every load is inspected before and after cleaning, but mishaps happen. If something goes wrong, we'll make it right with an account credit or refund. Just text or call us within a few days of delivery.
Q. Do you offer one-time pickups or only memberships? ▼ Both. Most customers use us on-demand — pay $2.85/lb per pickup, no commitment. The Wash & Fold Club is for households doing laundry every week and lowers the per-pound rate based on plan size.
Q. What are the Wash & Fold Club plans and prices? ▼ Three monthly plans: Small $75/mo (30 lb), Medium $139/mo (60 lb), and Large $197/mo (90 lb). Effective per-pound rates: $2.50 (Small), $2.32 (Medium), $2.19 (Large) — all lower than the $2.85/lb public rate. Pick the size that fits your typical month.
Q. If I'm a member and don't use my full allowance, do I lose it? ▼ No. Unused pounds roll over to the next month — you never lose what you've paid for. Send 50 lb on a Medium plan one month, you'll have 70 lb of allowance next month.
Q. Do you use eco-friendly cleaning? ▼ Yes. Our dry cleaning uses non-toxic solvents (no PERC), and our Wash & Fold uses gentle detergents safe for sensitive skin and the Bay watershed we share.
